@MorganLighter… I agree with you completely… I don’t think we should not be serious at all, of course it would be inappropriate and insensible if some one didn’t understand the needs of the situation…..

but I feel to a certain degree its almost essential we have that lightheartedness after some time has passed, even about the most serious matters….. and on the overall like you say, be playful……because there are a lot of the things that are not in our control!

Pearl – What a great question.
I believe that all of us should have some of both, not necessarily 50-50. I’ve noticed that there are times when I’m dead serious and other times that I’m just down right silly. It all boils down, at least for me, what circumstances are at hand.
If I had to pick one over the other – hmmmmm – call me playful.

Hey Ken …sorry for the late reply here but yeah…its all about our egos! Don’t worry about what others say, just be yourself ….

most of the time we simply over react to small problems and make ourselves miserable….so stay happy and you won’t feel as stressed!

its all what we make of it… good or bad…..

I believe it’s about adult’s egos. adults will feel like “not growing up” or “not mature” to have childish activities and the community will banned them.

I was labeled as a childish boy everytime I include laughs and smiles in my conversation. Some even avoiding me for that reason. It’s not a problem for me, I just know that they are stupid enough and not enjoying their life.

I’m 100% agree that smiles & bold laughter by showing my yellow teeth will heal my soul from everyday stresses. :)

Well, not all adults are serious type. I’ve met with adults above 45 still so playful and nice to chat with. :)

And last sentence, I’m a playful gal. Not suitable for serious environment. Even if I need to, I will create my own serious circumstance to suit myself.

Wow Pearl! i think this is one of the first post of yours that I have acually stopped and thought about awhile.nice job anyway i am not a very serious person.i will give people funny answers no matter how serious they want me to be :) anyways its just the way i am! I hope that i wont be that way forever but i may haha! how are you? I am much better than yesterday but the lungs are giving me problems breathing now. :(

me too… I can manage to laugh in the most serious of situations too… and this playfulness should never be lost, no matter what Mig…. and you are right, no need to worry about what people say or think about it…

Being able to laugh and find joy in silly little things, I think means you are alive, your spirit is unaffected… and that lightheartedness in turn gets rid of stresses that cause so many diseases… its really simple thing to understand yet most do not! I’m glad you listen to your MP3s …. I play loud music on my way to and back from work and I see most people have that tired look on their faces at the end of the day and I so wish they were a bit happier……

I believe if we force ourself to smile, we’ll feel that tension slipping away eventually!! it really does work!

J! I think I am a seriously playful person. Or a playfully serious type? I have no clue. Does sarcasm count? ;)

I didn’t lose it, girl. It is still there. I manage to play and be silly and I know I am being judged for it, but I don’t care. I don’t want to hide, I don’t want to waste those moments of fleeting joy that never return.

You asked why we lose it… Well: because people force us to. The way they look, the way they judge.

In the train to work, I listen every morning to my Salsa on my MP3 player. And I still hear what people talk around, so from this you can imagine that my music is not loud. I even wonder how they can hear it… But I believe in Supermen. :D Once someone said: “how can she go with that stupid music so early in the morning?!” And then they laughed. What a great joke.

So you see… it’s those little things that set borders to our souls. And the social standards that stop the giggles…
