Good morning Pearl, thanks for the post.

I have been preaching to my students for years to carry a notepad and pencil with them everywhere, except maybe the bathtub, kinda hard to write on soggy paper.

I have to be the worse one for sitting down and just pulling things out of my head, but the notes certainly help.

Hi Michael... You are right! 'if you're creative enough' is the gist though :-)

My feeling is that most of us are not dedicated to blogging to an extent Darren is, so we don't see opportunities in everything around us, but we all do want the results that Darren gets from blogging!

And those two posts he made are really amazing! I am sure we all can develop that kind of creativity if we try hard enough!

thanks for commenting Michael - and congrats to you for getting your post on problogger :)

That is some great advice. I run a personal finance and entrepreneur blog and I also run a company. It is great to discuss the days events at my work while giving advice at the same time. Good Tips.

That was a good post, and something I've been thinking a lot about lately. After seeing some of Darren Rowse's latest posts (About the mall and moving house), and how he applied them to blogging, I've realised that it really is possible if you're creative enough.

Hi Pearl,
Another great post. I use my mobile phone and record any ideas that come to me when I'm out and about, whereas at home I have a pile of paper lol.
For me, it depends upon which blog I am working on, as my PC Security blog relies on precise information and tried and tested programs, whereas my Life blog can cover many facets.
Notes are still essential though, as thoughts and ideas can come and then get forgotten :)

@Laketrees - hey Kim that sounds like an exciting thing to do.... will be hopping over to your blog soon to see those pictures ....

@Mike... you are very organized!!!! I still have to try OneNote... although I shy away from anything I need to pay for ;) I have played around with diyplanner too sometime in the past.... but even that gets too cumbersome sometimes... so I go with good old method of keeping a simple notebook by the bedside....

For things that just pop into my head, I use a Hipster PDA, but I use index cards to divide the sections, and print paper from diyplanner.com for the pages.

Everything eventually finds its way into OneNote.

Great post.
