huh? There are tons of messages from him and what amazes me is that he takes the time to write that message and never forgets to include that smiley at the end either!
He really doesn’t care how mad he makes me, as long as he (or she) tells me how happy he is!!
And of course there are other messages caught by Akismet that would otherwise be very annoying to me and you all,, like…..
‘hey, nice :)’
‘hey, very interesting, this is exactly what I was expecting’
‘hi, me too’
Thanks to this wonderful plugin….
Whoever invented that plugin does deserve some PayPal love from all of us!! what do you think?

I have to say, that I could not agree to having this guy whacked, but I do think he should:
a). Seek some professional help, immediately
b). Have his computer privileges revoked, forever
c). Get a life, other than his own
d). Not be allowed to marry, not be allowed to have children
e). Have forgone the lobotomy
f). Never want to meet you in a dark alley
The comments will be automatic. You can tell as they use the post title in the comments.
The creator of WordPress has a company named Automattic and they created Akismet. I hear they are about to release a version for email aswell
@Glen – comments are automatic meaning? so there isn’t a human sitting somewhere in a garage or a basement typing these?
Oh that email version would be really nice!! although gmail has quite nice spam filter! I haven’t experienced any of those emails coming to my inbox… although Outlook still sucks at that!

You’re not the only one who’s been receiving his spam – Lucia (creator of the Linky Love plugin, and a couple others) has mentioned Daniel’s comments in the past – http://money.bigbucksblogger.com/daniel-spam/
You also might want to remove the links that were made when you posted the article, which link to the spam site…

Akismet is either the best thing since sliced bread – or a bloggers worst enemy.
That’s because Akismet takes advice from all the other bloggers using it on what is spam.
Basically you are allowing other bloggers to make a decision for you on what is a legitimate comment VS a spam comment.
That link Sephy gave you takes you to Lucia who created Lucia’s Linky Love, as you saw. That’s a plugin for do follow blogs where it makes a comment no follow until a commenter leaves a certain amount (set by you) of comments on your blog.
Unless you are getting an unreasonable amount of spam, I’d turn Akismet off and do your own comment moderation, using something like Linky Love or there’s a couple of other options out there.

thats good point Snoskred… But I am getting unimaginable amount of spam and if I deactivated Akismet, I’m not sure we’d be able to find legit comments in here :) But I think I need to install additional layer to keep some of unwanted comments out!

Hummmm… That’s scares me ’cause sometimes I write in that way (in this case is because my english is very limited).
My question here is, maybe introducing CAPTCHA technology within your blog validation can help to kill this kind of spam…
Also, I guess, there must be people already working on anti-spam comment technology (new niche for software development kiddos! :-)).

I use both Bad Behavior, SpamKarma and the Akismet extension for SpamKaram The Daniel spam ends up in my Akismet box. (I could black list his IP with SpamKarma, but I’m watching to see how it changes.)
@paquito…. I have downloaded a lot of the plugins and some are simply not working with this template… may be I need to move to a new theme altogether! thanks for reminding CAPTCHA – I’ll definitely try that! My guess is someone already worked on anti-spam solutions :)

I thought of blacklisting his IP too :) and I think that can be done with Akismet, can’t it? I definitely will be looking at the others you’ve mentioned here..

those ideas would work if it was a real human :) but as Glen pointed out, seems like its some auto program they use to attack blogs

Auto-spamming…it really sucks doesn’t it?
As my 2 main blogs are on wordpress I use Akismet, which does a great job and also have enabled comment moderation. That upset one guy though, when in a matter of 2 minutes he posted 5 comments on the same topic, the final one being ‘what do you mean awaiting moderation !’ LOL
LOL and its weird that Akismet does hold back some comments that shouldn’t be held in the moderation queue at all.. I recently realized that it deletes the comments every 15 days so its important to go through the list in case some good comments got stuck in there! I wasn’t doing that and am afraid might have lost some!
This guy just left the same comment on my site! He’s a serial annoying person! lol

Haha, identical posts from the same email continually pop up in my Akismet plugin on my webcomic. Been getting them for months now and finally got curious and googled the email address and stumbled across your subtle satire regarding the spambot. Loved it.
