:lol: I know what you mean… I have so many different plugins for sharing on social networks and none of them (other than bookmarkit) work with this theme! Just be careful updating firefox – I believe it is SU toolbar though!

Glad you got it sorted.

I hope it’s not the SU toolbar – that would be annoying – you trust these updates are stable and tested.

I hate it when all the little things I get to rely on don’t play nicely together (like some of my plugins). They’re like petulant children, and I have enough of those to content with!

I liked that panda too – had no idea its also called fire fox :)

Meg: thanks Meg… finally today, after uninstalling and manually deleting ALL of the folders, mozilla as well as firefox, profiles etc, I was able to install a fresh version… but I am not going to install SU add on, I read many places that the newest version 2.0.0.9 has issues with SU toolbar….. may be thats what broke the whole thing…

I think being a finalist in itself is a feat :)

gee Pearl…I wish I could help but I’m an absolute moron when it comes to fire fox….I use IE 7 and until now touch wood….it suits my purpose…

Hi Mike – I’ve been using Spybot and even uninstalled all Mozilla files and did reboot, did a fresh install… it still wont work properly…. I defragged a few weeks ago too….

Hi Meg: Its not you, theres something in the newer version of fire fox that may not be compatible with some machines, i think… I am frustrated with this desktop pc that I cannot install a whole lot of things on because they wont recognize its xp OS – and it IS a genuine copy of windows xp, I checked! so Im not sure what is going on!

oh, the sub are back and I am so relieved :) thank you so much for stopping Meg…. hope we’ll be celebrating your victory in a few days? :)

Sorry to hear you’re having all of those problems Pearl. I would probably try to uninstall it, and then delete the directories it was installed in.

program files\Mozilla Firefox

Then reboot and re-install.

As far as the machine goes, have you done a defrag or scanned for spyware recently?

I don’t know if this is related, but I’ve been having periodic problems with FireFox over the last (maybe) 2-3 weeks where the whole browser just keeps freezing and disappearing (I have to alt/tab until I find it and wait for it to come back up). Seriously frustrating and slows me down no end. I love FireFox, and I’m not sure what the issue is (or if it’s just me).

My subs were down 44%, but fortunately I saw the ProBlogger post before I got paranoid that it was something I said!

hey teeni - sorry you lost your favorites.. thats why I keep my favorites in more than one place... if you use google, you can save them in google bookmarks or use delicious.. I use both....

Hi LGR: I found four chrome files ... 2 for Mozilla and 2 for Netscape..on my desktop pc (which has xp but some programs won't recognize it)
their locations:
program files\Mozilla Thunderbird\chrome
program files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\chrome

program files\Netscape\Netscape Browser\chrome
Program files\Netscape\Netscape\chrome

none in the documents and settings! but i checked on the laptop this file is in documents and settings...

When I upgraded to 2.0.0.9 of Firefox, I lost all my favorites. I don’t know what happened. Everything else has worked smoothly as far as I know but I hate having to find all my favorites all over again and bookmark them.

Your Firefox problem sounds like a problem with the chrome file. I just can’t tell you where it is, because I have not used Windows for a while and I am not anywhere a Windows machine at the moment. Off the top of my head I believe the file is called chrome.rdf. Try doing a search for it, there might be two, one in the program files folder and one in the documents and settings folder (in a hidden folder). Just rename one at a time to chrome.old.rdf for example and try to start Firefox.

I have had problems with that file becoming corrupt on Windows machines in the past and that have gotten things working again.
