I'm working on doing something a little smaller scale at the moment but I'll share with you. I have some neighbors who are an elderly couple and he recently had a slight stroke. His already bad eyesight is now almost gone and I know he loved to read. So I know he can get some books at the library on tape but I thought I'd buy him a large print version of a book and also read it out loud and tape it for him as I do so. That way he can feel like he is reading the way he used to (and follow along if he can in the physical book, or just ignore the book and listen to the tape - give him the flexibility and the choice)and also get a more recent book than he could from our library without a long wait.
