I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy, Successful and Safe New Year. Hope all of your wishes come true this year and beyond.
My only wish for the year 2009 is that it be more peaceful and prosperous than 2008.
This year we had no extravagant celebrations, just watched the ball drop in Times Square (on TV).

We stayed home and were sound asleep by 11:00 :-)
It was a lousy, cold night with high winds and snow here. We don’t like being on the roads with drunks anyway so it’s hard to get us out even without bad weather; that storm made it a definite “stay home” night.

Happy New Year Pearl, and everyone else reading this.
Was relaxing at home this year, but there no specific tradition to follow in my case. We just do whatever the mood suggests on the day. Sometimes that leads to quieter eves like this one and sometimes more public celebrations. Makes for an interesting variety of memories.

Same here Pearl, just a quiet celebration at home, woke the kids, 4 and 7, up at midnight and then everyone back to bed. Lots of good food today, and a little bit of vacation for the weekend.

Happy New Year Pearl!
We just stayed at home and watched the fireworks (in Sydney) on the TV. We have a youngster who gets up early, so we went to bed pretty quick after midnight.
Anyway, my New Year’s Resolution is to visit the blogs in my feed reader more (including yours) – wish me luck!
