So I have been tagged by Chee Kui of Dirty Little Secrets to tell 8 random things about me!  Dirty Little Secrets??   Chee, thanks for giving us some good secrets about you this time.   As for me,  I usually find it awfully hard to talk about personal stuff blatantly, especially making a post about it and even giving it that title, but I will try and hope you don’t get bored with it. 

I have to be honest though, I started reading how others have been approaching this meme,  how much of themselves people are revealing, and what are they holding back.   As I was trying to find whoever first started this meme,  I found some great blogs but two sites clearly stood out and I definitely will be reading those in future.  One of them made me laugh out loud. and the other made me very sad! .  While the junkys wife has a knack for telling funny stories,  Chris’s writing is so gripping, you will end up spending a whole lot of time on his site.

Well, lets see if I can do this….  As with all memes, you have to follow certain rules and here are the ones for this one:

The Rules:
1. Each player must post these rules first.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

So here are some things about me:

1. My zodiac sun sign is Scorpio and Chinese sign is Tiger.
2. I find that when driving,  subconsciously I start memorizing license plates of the vehicles around me! [weird?:)]
3. I used to play  bagpipe in high school.
4. I am not afraid of the heights and have bungee jumped and would still love to do that some day.
5. I have a huge problem remembering people’s names especially if I haven’t met them in a long time.  I once met a friend after a long time and called her Linda instead of Jane!!!  duh  and she didn’t even correct me!  =)
6. I love trance and dance music, but also love Scottish tunes!
7. I am super emotional and end up crying easily and don’t really have a problem with it either :-) 
8. and finally I am an 80 year old guy!    

Okay that last one is not really true!!  

    The last one is that I am really afraid of the dark.

My very first meme comes from Kim the beautiful and talented artist from Australia who authors LakeTrees as well as PoeARTica

Well, my biggest reason could be summarized in just one sentence. I blog because of the immense satisfaction I get from interacting with so many bright and generous bloggers each and every day. But because for this meme, I need to list 5, here are the Five Reasons Why I Blog:

• I find it helps to improve my own thoughts and opinions by asking hows and whys on different issues and getting involved in discussions via comments that are informative and thought provoking

• Expressing my thoughts in writing is helping me improve my self expression because even though I have a lot of ideas and opinions about issues, until I start putting those in writing, they don’t have any particular shape and form

• I love new experiences each day and each of these experiences brings me closer to my potential and pushes me to learn something new each day

• Blogging has essentially dissolved borders allowing me to instantaneously access the viewpoint of people all over the world, which would never have been possible with any other activity

• I find myself constantly trying to catch up with the blogging community on a daily basis because I want to be good at what I am doing and this has forced me to read a lot more than I would have done otherwise

And I would be lying if I didn’t mention I am curious to see if I can make a few bucks doing what I have come to love so much.
