Interesting Observations

blogging, social media and self-improvement!

What is your message?

I recently did a meme on five reasons why I blog.  As days go by and I learn more and more about blogging,  I am finding that my reasons to blog are sort of developing.  As I get more and more comfortable with this medium of sharing with others, I think about what it is that I want to say that will be interesting to anyone who lands up on this page. On one hand,  I feel restrained in that I do not want to put out too much of my personal detail that might not be necessary and might complicate things for me in my personal life, but on the other hand I feel I am free to write whatever I might be feeling at the moment and get a good feedback from so many of talented and experienced writers themselves.

I have heard it many times and read it on many established blogs that we need to first figure out what we want to blog about.  I thought I always knew I had something to say.  But I didn't quite know what that something was.  So how can you immediately carve out your niche?   This is especially very difficult if you are not going to blog about [or do not have enough knowledge about] the gadgets or SEO or say 'how to make money online'  or even technology?  I feel I have enough knowledge about all of the above – well may be not – but enough to get by,  but somehow I do not consider myself to be a guru in any one subject to be blogging about just that!   How about you?  Are you concentrating only on one theme or one subject as far as blogging is concerned?  Have you found your niche yet?  If you have, what made you decide that is what you were going to blog about?

For me, it is a discovery process and every day is a challenge.  I write about  everything that goes on in my mind from my experiences and how I go about tackling life or how I plan to tackle various issues I am faced with.  My blog is about fresh perspectives on many aspects of life and my observations on things I find interesting,  hence the name Interesting Observations.  This is a place I want to express what I think about and my feelings, and in the process find my voice, as freshblogger pointed out sometime ago.  My effort will always be to make my blog worth visiting for my readers.

Glad that you’ve got the intention to make the blog worth for the visitors. Finding niche is really important and the faster you get to know what it is, the better it for you.

I concentrate on technology only and in that too, I want to concentrate only on software reviews at this time and later on…..I’ll get into hardware reviews too.

Hey there Goilykins!
My niche is about having fun and laughing beacoup even if it is just me doing it. In my life, I’ve had plenty of stuffy jobs that required my ability to focus and center on problems and there was no way that I would ever get away uncovering where my mind really was in it. My associates would have died a thousand deaths and would have hung me high if I ever took my professional mask off in their midsts. Therefore, I have taken off the mask and now I am what you see is what you get type of chicklet. Then again, I’ve made my grades. Now I’m going for the brass ring!
WoooHoooo!
Living, laughing, and loving is the immediate path of my choice from here on out, Chica. I donated all five 55 gallon bags of business clothing too. It marked the beginning of celebrating me new life of retirement. Heck, I’ve worked long and hard for many many years and the time has come for me to kick it up just the way I am supposed to kick it up and enjoy life for what it is instead of being a slave to it. With me, ‘what you see is what you get’, just like Flip Wilson said.
I’m a happy camper both online and offline.

Hey Pearl. I know how you feel! It’s not always just beginning bloggers who ask these sort of questions. I question myself every few months about where I’m going with my blog. Am I getting bored with what I’m talking about? Sometimes, the answer is yes. We just have to follow where our passions take us.

You’re doing a great job finding your voice and actually already have one, in my opinion. Your readers know you! Keep up the good work! I expect great things from you.

So you are going to find your voice, huh? :)
I haven’t found my “real” voice yet. Still wondering around my brain’s corner to digg out the voice that’s 100% “passion” of my life! :)

Hope you will find it soon! Best Regards!

pearl

Ken… You don’t have to worry at all… you have a voice and its been heard by some big time players like pchere hehe

and I guess the best way is to have more than one blog for each ‘niche’ if you will, because we all have many different interests and passions… rather than jumbling all of what we know in one blog… what do you say?

pearl

Hi Ray.. thanks for stopping by and thanks for the vote of confidence!! I learn a great deal from your blog.

And I do feel my readers are the biggest motivator for me to continue to do better in blogging… their love and support has made it more fun and enjoyable than anything else….

Chee Kui

I think it should simply to supply us with fresh perspective on whatever that is floating around ;)
Just do it one at a time, I know you can do it ;)
