President Obama gives America a night to remember forever!

What a charismatic moment we just had in America with Barack Obama’s victory tonight. Included below is President Obama’s (getting used to saying that) victory speech that he gave in Chicago just less than an hour ago. Watch it and notice the height of emotions felt across people of ALL colors, ages and social classes.

It was truly a very proud and emotionally thrilling moment as in times like these, you forget the differences and divide and stand united, for each other, not just for ourselves. Very inspirational as greatness and intelligence is once again rewarded tonight. Here’s to the new beginnings and much needed change..

Even in the UK we have been swept along by the US elections. Obama really seems to have captured the mood of the people. The pressure on him not to disappoint must be huge. McCain simply didn’t have the charisma, but I felt he was gracious and dignified in defeat. Let’s all look to the future now and hope Obama, and all other world leaders, can deliver.

Hi Judith.. you are exactly right, that’s the gracious and humble McCain we all expected throughout the campaign but at times were stunned at his behavior, who knows what kind of pressures are put on candidates from the ones around them? The pressure on Obama is huge of course, but one day at a time, things have to improve from this point on.. we hope! :)

Judith, thank you so much for stopping by.. I love your site btw

Hi Pearl! I am happy to see the first African American president and that is the most important part of Obama’s election. I wish him well and hope he does a good job.

I have no illusions about anything in politics though. The American government is still the most crooked and corrupted government in the world. I hope Obama can stay above the corruption. He has 4 years to prove his leadership and America will hold his feet to the fire. Nonetheless, I am proud of him and really happy today

Hey Bobby, believe me that there are many governments around the world much more corrupted than American government! I am happy for Obama too and hope he can deliver and stay exemplary but I also hope we don’t start expecting miracles overnight or even in the entire term as he said….. see we shouldn’t forget that first and foremost these guys are politicians :) in any case, his speech was uplifting and I am very happy today too

The election of Barack Obama as the next U.S. president creates plenty of profit plays for investors in the New Year, the first installment of Money Morning’s Outlook 2009 Series concludes.

Hello Pearl, thanks for your kind words.

Here in Canada we have been watching the US election closely. I was happy to see Obama elected. I think his intelligence trumped his race as the major factor in his win. That is very inspiring.

I hope he can live up to the hype and bring the country out of the tough times that are ahead of it.

The one thing that i found disappointing about the election was the booing that went on when Mcain was admitting defeat. How can you boo somebody that has worked for years for a country and has made it to where he is with great difficulty. Nobody deserves that no matter how bad a president they would make.
