Personal Excellence Tips at Litemind

As many of you have often mentioned I should get back to posting regularly, and have inquired how I spend my time now that I am not blogging regularly, I want to share that I try to stay in touch with the online world doing things that do not require a lot of concentration or time.   I am very much present in the social media scene and often vote your articles up and am always there to help you out in any way I can.   Occasionally, I have also participated in the small group writing projects/contests, especially when the rules to enter were not very difficult.  A lot of things have changed after my father’s passing as now I go to see my mother (after work in the evening) more often than before and that takes away from my time but even when I am at home doing nothing and am not busy, it’s been difficult dealing with all that has happened in the last year but I promise to do better on this blog.

Now this:

Just a few days ago, I received an email from Luciano Passuello of Litemind that he was running a project/contest for his readers to submit their best personal excellence tips.  This did not require a blog post as you would just need to send in a tip to Luciano’s email.

As I am still in need of some good ideas on how to get over my depression, I thought of sending in a few lines that may not be the best advice out there but they have become my mantra to get through my sadness, check out #28 in the list.  Luciano has published ALL personal excellence tips submitted to him, 66 tips so far. Great ideas given by Litemind readers and great blogs to discover.

The best part.

Since there are prizes worth some $800,  Luciano has asked his participants to vote by commenting on this post listing at least their favorite 5 tips/entries,  and as many as they like (no voting for their own entry of course).   This part is going to take some time for me to choose as I am in a position where I could use most of these tips to improve my life.   If you didn’t get a chance to participate,  you are not eligible to vote but I’d still encourage you to head over to Litemind and share your own very best personal excellence tips.

And I’d be delighted to hear your comments here too on what gets you through depression and sadness.

I know this game well… I do think the best way to overcome depression is to DO SOMETHING! Make some changes in your daily routine. Even small changes will help you to kick start your motivation. Remember, it’s those small pushes that are so hard at first that will eventually lead to real progress and significant, lasting change in your life! You can do it!

i find that going for a walk helps. the exercise, getting my joints and limbs moving, the blood flowing. trying to limit my thoughts to what i see on the road. either that or thinking about things freely. it’s a change of scenery, a change of pace, and i can do it either alone, with strangers, or with a group of friends. good luck….

Thanks for mentioning the project, Pearl.

I’m really excited about all the great tips readers submitted, and as curious as everybody else to know the winners.

Although only participants’ votes count as “official”, everybody is encouraged to head to the post and vote.

I’ll probably release ‘non-official’ results, too — which will include everybody’s votes…

Thanks again!

Yea,I too suffer or battle depression. I think the best tool is to be aware of the signals that you are falling into a depressed state. For me the signs include problems sleeping, racing thoughts, fatigue, needing to nap during the day(don’t do), and overall irritability to name a few. I try and do activities that get the endorphins pumping. That and better living through chemistry.
It also helps to chat with a friend when you are feeling down.

Maybe all us depressed should start a group depression blog, or how about the depressed blogger service, where we post on group members blogs as fill-ins when depression strikes?

Pearl, hope you are feeling better, thanks for sharing, it always helps to know that we are not alone.
hmm..maybe I need to do a few blog posts as well…last one was almost two weeks ago..urgh…

Making some changes is the best way to oversome on depression. I completely agree with Ray. Those changes will give an enthusiasm to live a life in a different way.

Even though I can’t give you credit for the great idea of collecting the personal excellence tips, I would like to thank you for sharing Litemind’s post as I wouldn’t have found it otherwise.

I think one of the best ways to benefit from a list like that is to take it and use it in small pieces at a time. If you try to do all 66 points simultaneously you will be more likely to fail than if you pick one or two and try to implement them into your life. Once you have made them into habits you can go for the next one or two points.

you are welcome Agolf.. Luciano always comes up with some great projects.. and I’m glad you read my blog to have found this project :) and I agree, concentrating on just a few at a time is the way to go, this is a huge list that everyone can find something to work with. I voted for 16 of them as it was difficult to choose just five!

Glad we are digg friends too :-)
